DICKINSON, N.D. – ConocoPhillips announced the presentation of $242,000 in charitable grants to 12 organizations from five counties in the Williston Basin at an event in Dickinson.
This year’s recipients included area volunteer first responders, healthcare facilities, schools and civic and environmental organizations. The largest of these donations was a $100,000 grant to the North Dakota Natural Resources Trust. The Trust will work through the Prairie Pothole Joint Venture to encourage conservation groups to develop a focused grassland conservation program to stabilize or reverse declining bird populations across the Great Plains from Canada to Mexico. Other large grants include $40,000 to the Gateway to Science Center in Bismarck and to Watford City Public Schools for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math-related initiatives.
“As residents of multiple regions in the Williston Basin, we are pleased to give back to the communities where we live and work,” said Peter Bazin, Williston operations and maintenance superintendent. “We are proud to contribute to these organizations that play such a vital role in improving the quality of life for local residents. The grants will support specific projects or purchases that will help each organization achieve its mission.”
Each year, ConocoPhillips invests in communities through charitable giving, employee volunteerism and sponsorships. Company donations support education, health and safety, natural resources, the arts, civic and social services and disaster relief.
ConocoPhillips has offices in Dickinson and Watford City, North Dakota and Billings, Montana. A full list of this year’s grant recipients is provided below.
