WATFORD CITY, N.D. – It’s been a little over a week since a tornado swept through Prairie View Park in Watford City, leaving dozens of families left to pick up the pieces. The community is now doing their part to bring aid to the victims, including one energy company that’s helping victims to sleep well during the troubling times.
Strangers near and far come together to deliver a peace of mind for those affected.
Hess Corporation is making sure victims have a little comfort during these rough times. Food and water have already been donated to those in need, but there was still something missing.
“I talked to my volunteers together and I said, ‘Hess wants to help us, what could we ask them for?’ And somebody said ‘Beds!’ It was a great idea so I called Ben and it was no problem,” said Karolin Jappe, emergency manager for McKenzie County.
“We found out there was a need for bedding and other supplies so we acted on it. We found out on Friday, we reached out to Keating and they were able to facilitate a quicker order for us,” said Ben Badon, emergency response advisor.
