After a loss at the Ribfest Charity Cook Off, Hess decided to throw their own fundraiser for the Domestic Violence Crisis Center June 27.
Hotdogs and hamburgers were on the grill, the DVCC was there selling raffle tickets for their upcoming Bike Run and free will donations were being accepted for lunch.
All the money raised is going to the Crisis Center’s fundraising challenge to get $165,000 by the end of September, in order to receive another $500,000 to pay off their construction loan. Which they are hoping to reach with the support of the community.
“We’re very fortunate to have that support here in Minot. They are a great corporation, they do a lot for the community, and we are fortunate to be one of the groups they like to support,” said DVCC Volunteer Coordinatorr, Anna Schraeder.
“It’s what we do, social responsibility is huge within Hess. We talk about it all the time, we urge people to get out and get involved. Become part of the community so we are good neighbors,” said Hess EHS Supervisor, Wes Frisco.
