The oil and gas industry supports more than 72,000 jobs in the state, but finding a qualified, skilled and knowledgeable workforce continues to be a challenge. To help students interested in the energy industry pursue a degree, the North Dakota Petroleum Council offers two scholarship programs to assist with tuition costs.
The Al Golden Scholarship awards up to nine individual $2,000 scholarships each year to undergraduates pursuing an energy-related degree. Applications open up in January and are due in April.
The North Dakota Petroleum Council (NDPC) has partnered with Missouri River Resources, Baker Consulting, and J & J Rentals to create the Fort Berthold Energy Partners scholarship program for deserving enrolled members of the MHA Nation pursuing an education and/or career in energy. This scholarship will offer a $2,000 scholarship for up to two qualifying individuals in its inaugural year. High school students graduating or current college students may apply.
