    McKenzie County has reputation for being where, statistically, more crash fatalities occur than any other county in North Dakota.

    There were 24 fatalities in the county, amounting to nearly 18 percent of the 136 statewide fatalities in 2014, according to the Department of Transportation.

    In response, county risk manager Jerry Samuelson is organizing a safety standdown, inviting the driving public and specialized truck and bus drivers to join in a day of driver and vehicle safety information.

    “We have a lot of accidents, and it’s not just semi-truck drivers or those white service pickups, like people think. There is a lot of that, but there is a lot of human error out there,” Samuelson said. To continue reading, click here.
