WILLISTON, N.D. – After months of construction, Williston’s new high school opened this morning.
For freshmen coming to high school for the first time, it can be a little daunting.
“I thought ‘am I in the right place? There’s a lot of older people,” said Justin Palmer, freshman.
Wednesday, it was almost like everyone was a freshman again as students entered the new high school for the first time.
“Just everything is, like I said, everybody’s eyes are wide open because it’s so new, and we just haven’t seen something like this in quite a while,” said James Klein, math teacher.
The first half of the day was spent getting oriented in their new space and going over new procedures and expectations for the building. Then students were treated to a barbecue lunch.
